I simply love helping people. Everyone has story. What’s yours? What is happening in your body to help or hurt you? I enjoy hearing these stories and it is my passion to come up with a strategy that will work to help you live a more vibrant, balanced life.
I was introduced to alternative therapy following a herniated disc injury caused by teaching too many fitness classes and overworking/stressing as a medical sales rep. As most of us do, I sought Western medicine and pharmaceuticals first. When they failed to help me I searched for a more natural solution. Ultimately, acupuncture changed my life by preventing me from having surgery and I am out of pain to this day.
I am a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.A.c) in Hawaii and Texas and a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine (OM), which is the highest certification granted by the National Certification Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Because, I consider myself a humble student, I have completed internships in Beijing, China and Tokyo, Japan with world leaders in Chinese and Japanese style Oriental Medicine. Having this type of background enriches what I can bring to the table for my patients. In addition, I have training certificates from MD Anderson Cancer Center for acupuncture, massage therapy and yoga as well as Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture. For the last 4 years I have worked with a gynecologist and specialized in women’s health.
Since I teach many fitness and yoga classes, my specialties include: pain management, sports medicine, women’s health and cancer care. My ‘style’ of integrative care is… whatever works best for the patient. I use a combination of acupuncture, massage, yoga/meditation, herbal therapy and reiki to get the best outcomes for my patients. I look forward to hearing your story and helping you to thrive in a holistic, natural way @ Kauai Therapy & Wellness.
