Mindy Murray is a long time Kauai resident and a graduate from Kauai High School & Kauai Community College. Mindy received a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2000. Mindy has worked for over 18 years as an Occupational Therapist on Kauai in a variety of occupational therapy/rehabilitative settings with pediatrics to geriatrics as well as Hand Therapy Internships at The Hand Therapy Clinic in Southern California , Whittier California Outpatient, & Rancho Los Amigos National Medical Center, Los Angeles CA. Mindy holds specialized training in dysphagia and swallow disorders and is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and an active member in community outreach programs.
Describe the essence of what you do in your job:
Assisting others to gain independence, function, safety, and strength through real everyday tasks.
What are some of your interests, outside of work?
My family with three unique and amazing kids, volunteering at church on the beach while providing free medical care, and training for my 6th full marathon.

What do you like most about caring for patients?
My patients & their families tend to become friends who I see overcome great obstacles. I get to see these friends out in the community functioning again.
Why did you choose to become an occupational therapist?
As a child I used to watch my mother (an OT) work in all different settings with all different ages. I knew as a young child I wanted to help others with the same compassion and commitment as I saw in her.
