The education and practice of enabling individuals to perform meaningful and purposeful activities using treatments to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of patients with a physical, mental, or developmental conditions.The focus of OT is teaching the skills and educating the patient and their family in order to increase participation in and performance of daily activities. This can be done through: Therapeutic Exercises: The Strengthening and balancing of the muscles around the joints that are essential for good movement, stability, and pain relief. Therapists are the leading experts in helping those with pain, arthritis, obesity, diabetes and heart disease get fit and strong safely. Occupational therapists work with all ages.

What does it take to be an OT?

An occupational therapist completes a 5 or 6-year post baccalaureate occupational therapy degree and must complete a supervised fieldwork program during thier studies and pass a national board certification exam (NBCOT). All of our therapists are certified by the state of Idaho and nationally.
